We have now opened our new office at 36A Norwich street, Dereham, Norfolk.NR19 1BX.
Our new central support office located in Dereham, provides a safe and accessible one stop location for clients to access our services and volunteer support. Our evidence highlighted that clients need the skilled and trained understanding of our volunteers in order to feel comfortable and safe, often avoiding other community activities because they feel embarrassed or separate because of their illness or due to fear of infection. Access to a one-stop shop where they know they will be met with an understanding ear and supported by volunteers with lived experience of the challenges they are facing is vital to reducing the barriers they may face in accessing the support and connections they need when experiencing the trauma of living with cancer.
The Support Office will provide access to regular social activities and a drop-in location to obtain advice and information, you can book onto our regular monthly social outings providing carers respite, transport services to help attend hospital appointments and digital engagement sessions, arranging mobility equipment or respite breaks and seeking personalised volunteer support e.g. befriending services providing shopping/prescription collection and companionship, supporting attending medical appointments or one-to-one assistance with IT equipment.
