    I’m a local NHS Paramedic and enjoy giving something back to the community in which I live. I am proud to be a volunteer and part of Caring Friends, working with a fantastic and dedicated group of people, helping the best I can.

  • Margaret Barrett - CEO Trustee

    Having lost my Mother at 16 I then found I had my own breast cancer.I am a survivor now of 21 plus years.I enjoy helping people and lending a sympathetic ear.

    Cancer has touched the lives of many of our friends and family and since retirement we have been volunteering and giving our support to Caring Friends for Cancer a very worthy cause within the local community.

  • Moira Cranmer - Trustee

    I experienced cancer when my dad and grandmother both had cancer and I helped care for them. I had worked in a nursing home so when I retired I felt I needed to keep caring for people, and caring Friends does that even if its only providing a listening ear for people in some cases and I have made many new friends

  • Suzanne Chapman - Manager

    I joined in 2022 as Manager.I am so lucky to work with such a wonderful selfless group of people.I have lost a lot of friends to cancer and wanted to do something positive for others, and help support friendship and social intervention for people.

    I enjoy being part of caring friends as it is an opportunity to be involved with practical and emotional support to anybody struggling with issues around illness. A lovely team to work with.

    Hello my name is Lorraine I'm 61 years old and have a rare cancer which I've had now 14 years . Caring Friends have helped me all through my cancer journey . Now I'm unable to work it's my turn to help them . My skill is the fundraising side collecting bits for raffles and coming up with new ideas to keep the money coming in . Also trying to encourage other people with cancer to try to be as strong positive and live life . Caring Friends have so much to offer .
